Mike Giles, Fieldfisher Finance Director, Named One of the Tech Evangelists for Change in the Legal Sector by The Lawyer

Fieldfisher worked with LexisNexis to design and implement the first cloud-based version of LexisOne – a form of software that is designed to improve accessibility to a variety of business data – reducing the number of products that the firm uses from eight to one.

As Microsoft wrote the code for client relations software Dynamics 365, LexisNexis worked on new code to make it compatible with LexisOne applications. This enabled Fieldfisher to launch in June 2016 with a ‘stripped-down’ version of the product. In one weekend, eight systems were shut down to launch new interfacing HR, billing, finance, time recording and credit control systems.

This change was significant because fee-earners and business services teams had been using Thomson Reuters’ Elite Enterprise for over two decades and were trained to use and test the products to develop them in real time.
