LexisOne Customer, Fieldfisher, Wins the British Legal Technology Award 2018 for 'Technology Venture of the Year'

At the recent British Legal Technology Awards 2018, Fieldfisher won an award for their deployment of LexisOne. They beat other top law firms to win the award for 'Technology Venture of the Year'.

The judges noted Fieldfisher for being the first law firm to go live on a new, cloud-based practice management system; fully integrating the Finance and HR functions of the business; and making real savings of £1.7 million over the next five years by retiring eight major legacy IT solutions. They also took note of the initiative's on-time and on-budget completion.

"Congratulations to Fieldfisher, and an enormous well done to everyone involved at Enterprise Solutions in delivering LexisOne so smoothly," commented Andy Sparkes, General Manager at Enterprise Solutions. "We should all be very proud of this achievement! Collectively, we are paving the way for a new and modern approach to legal business operation and management."

This LexisOne project has challenged the mantra that "law is different" and successfully explored and implemented an alternative solution to the few traditional practice management systems that dominate the legal IT market.

LexisOne has provided Fieldfisher an opportunity to examine the way that the firm manages its business – challenging the long-standing thinking and processes and leveraging the embedded business best practices that are already used by a wide range of global businesses. While the cost savings to the business are clear, the firm is also seeing real benefits that arise from the ability to analyse the firm's performance data to improve decision making – from operational efficiency and sales opportunities through to people management and reward.

The 'Technology Venture of the Year' award recognises the outstanding delivery of an individual technology venture, project or initiative. It honours the strategy, planning, execution and successful results of a technology venture that has delivered a positive and commercially viable impact.
