Tech Ed on the Up!

Nigel Williams, Visualfiles Product Manager gives his views on the Visualfiles & SolCase Tech Ed

Those of you who’ve been in the Visualfiles/SolCase camp for many years will have seen a variety of ‘client conference events’, but I think that this month’s Tech Ed was one of the best! I wanted us to build upon last year’s “we’re back” message and so it was key that we demonstrated more of what Visualfiles is giving you and presented an insight to our longer term vision. It was also important to involve “non-LexisNexis others”, so we extended invitations to some of our partners.

So what was it like from my perspective? I love presenting at a busy event, so to see so many clients was brilliant and it was great to be able to demonstrate more of Visualfiles this time. Reaction to Marcus Hutchinson’s session showing the headline roadmap items – analytics and the ‘Microsoft-style’ application window – was very positive and it was really encouraging to hear so many upbeat comments from the audience. Equally, our plans for the Outlook Plus and History Plus functionality seemed to go down well. So an event like this helps to confirm that we’re on the right track with Visualfiles, and that the long term plans we started last year are definitely moving in the right direction.

The result was a pretty busy day, full of information and ideas, set in a new ‘funky’ environment specifically designed for the job. We know you won’t have liked everything, and we’re currently working through your comprehensive feedback so that we fully understand the “good, bad and ugly”. In terms of the “ugly”, this was the first time that we’ve had a video crew at a Tech Ed, and we hope to be able to publish some of the best bits online (a limited edition Blu-ray box set anyone?) for those who couldn’t make it. If you have any thoughts you’d like to share, my inbox is always open…

So it’s onward and upward, and we look forward to the next major Visualfiles and SolCase event.
