When we think of 'cybercriminals' we conjure up images of shadowy figures, cloaked in darkness spending countless hours trying to breach security firewalls and IT systems.

When thinking about cybercrime, many imagine a loan teenager sat in their bedroom 'hacking' into a corporate network to steal their millions, or their intellectual property. Whilst this is often true, it is not the whole truth.

In 2015 statistics showed there had been over 5.1 Million cases of online fraud and over 2.5 Million cases of 'cybercrime' reported to the Police (via ‘Action Fraud’). Meaning you are more likely to be a victim of cyber-related crime than physical crime (burglary or assault).
